Step 3: Now dip a piece of the microfiber cloth into water and start rubbing it on the touchpad and its buttons to remove stains and grime on it. However, make sure that water must not get into the open spaces around the touchpad.

Step 4: After that use the toothpicks to clean the dust in the spaces around the touchpad and make sure it should not fall off into the spaces. After that, slightly dip one side of the cotton bud into water and rub it on the corners of the touchpad and its buttons to remove the dust or stains.

Step 5: Now use the dry part of the microfiber cloth to dry the surface of the touchpad.

Step 6: Merienda you are done cleaning now it’s time to disinfect the touchpad, so use the second microfiber cloth and pour some drops of isopropyl solution on it. You can use perfume or aftershave as well for disinfection.

So, gently start to rub the microfiber cloth on the touchpad and do the same at least two to three times by dripping more drops of solution and changing the sides of the cloth.

Step 7: Merienda you are done, wipe a clean microfiber cloth on your laptop touchpad to give it a clean look and turn on your laptop.

Tips to keep your touchpad in good condition

Below are the things to do to keep your laptop touchpad in good condition:

  • Protect your touchpad from starches by applying protector on it
  • Avoid eating snacks or anything while using a laptop on your lap as it can go into the spaces around the touchpad.
  • Use the touchpad gently to avoid any scratches on it
  • Clean the touchpad occasionally

Important note: Be careful when using any fluids to clean your touchpad because spillage of even a drop can fry the electronics. Moreover, don’t use dishwashing soap or another detergent as it can react with the body of the laptop.

Methods to split screen on Chromebook?

1: Split screen by drag and drop of windows

2: Split screen using keyboard shortcut keys

Chromebook has more shortcut keys than other laptops, it has a shortcut key for almost every function. To enable split-screen by using shortcut keys, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open 2 applications you want to use in the split-screen function.

Step 2: Press Alt +[, and one app will open up on the left side of the screen.

Step 3: Now open the second app and press Alt + ], it will be opened on the right side of the screen.

Note: If you want to open an app on the right side of the screen, simply press Alt + ] and if you want to open the app on the left side of the screen press Alt + [

3: Split screen through overview mode

The F5 key shows two rectangle shapes and a line to its right, by pressing this key overview mode will turn on your Chromebook. To set up the apps in a multi-window for use, simply follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the applications you want to use in split-screen.

Step 2: Press the F5 key to launch the overview screen.

Step 3: Drag the app in the overview mode and a “Drag here to use split-screen” option will pop up:

Step 4: Drag one application on one side of the screen and the second one on the other end of the screen to use in a split-screen mode.

4: Split screen using Dualless extension

This extension is present on the right side of the URL bar, it helps you to open multiple tabs on the split-screen. If you have multiple tabs open then follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Add a dualless extension on your Chrome browser and click the tab you want to use on the split-screen on the right side:

Step 2: Click the dualless extension to select the window size according to your choice, a window will be automatically sized on the side after that:

Turning on a laptop without power button

Turning on the laptop using the lid of the laptop

Turning on the laptop using the LAN signal

There is another method to turn on and that is by connecting the LAN cable to your laptop and this setting can be turned on by going into bios settings of your laptop so follow the given steps:

Step 1: Restart your laptop and press f2 key from the keyboard to go to the bios settings and merienda you have got into the bios settings click on the “System Management” option from the list on the left:

Step 2: Scroll down the system management menu to “Wake on LAN” and click on the second option that is “LAN Only”:

Turning on the laptop by setting time and date

If you use your laptop for a limited number of hours like during your work hours there is an option of setting time and day at which the laptop will automatically turn on. To active such option you have to go the Windows bios settings, so assign time and day to your laptop to turn on following the steps below:

Step1: Restart your laptop and by pressing the F2 key of the keyboard go into the bios settings. Next click on the “System Management” option in the list on the left side:

Step 2: Scroll down the “System Management” menu to “Coche on Time” option and set the time and days of the week on which you want to use your laptop:

Step 3: Merienda you have selected the suitable options then click on “APPLY CHANGES” button at the bottom and next click on “EXIT”, now your laptop will turn on at the time and day you selected.

Note: Consult your user manual before going to BIOS settings as the key used to go into the bios settings may vary from laptop to laptop. For demonstration I have displayed the bios settings of a DELL laptop, so you might find a difference in GUI and settings menu of bios settings of any other manufacturer of laptop.
